Applying

The Program

  • The first two years of the program are devoted to coursework in economic theory, mathematics, and quantitative methods. 
  • Students write an original empirical paper with faculty guidance.  The best paper wins the Hoos Prize and many of them have been published. 
  • By the end of the third year students will present a research essay and take the oral examination.  The remainder of the graduate program is devoted to writing the dissertation.
